Why did I turn against Baha’ism (part-1)

A memoir by Masihullah Rahmani!

Bahaismiran: According to an old custom in our village, we were gathering and speaking in the alleys at dusk everyday. One day nearly at dusk, we saw a traveler coming towards our village quickly. I announced his arrival to the villagers. That night we went home late to visit him; since we were waiting for a proselytizer. Yes, he was a skillful one called Mirza Monir Nabil Zadeh who was sent by the coterie of Mashhad city.

The traveler arrived. Everybody was trying to visit him first and shake hands. I went forward, too. I thought to myself he would surely be a seasoned proselytizer and would answer to our unanswered questions and problems.

When he arrived everybody shouted Allahu Abha [Baha’is hello]. Everybody surrounded him and kissed his face and hands. I was thinking of preparing food for dinner for I was responsible for getting the proselytizer’s foods, accommodations and facilities ready.

He came to my house and stayed there for a long time. Sometimes, I was taking him to the plains to walk and stroll. Meantime, I was asking my questions.

As we were walking, I asked one day:

“The Excellency Nabil Zadeh, you know we have social intercourse with the Muslims. They sometimes ask us some question and we are unable to answer. Now, I want to ask you one. Nabil Zadeh said while he was full of vanity: “Say what your gloomy heart prompts you to”

I asked: “Mr. Nabil Zadeh, the Muslims say Bahaullah has said in his book Aqdas that if a person fornicates he/she must pay 9 methqal gold to the universal house of justice of Baha’is. While, according to the holy Quran such as action will be punished by one hundred whips or stoning. They criticize the commandment of the Aqdas book because:

First, it isn’t obvious that he or she must pay gold. It isn’t explained what will happen if both of them are satisfied with doing this or both of them are obliged or one of them is obliged.

Mr. Nabil Zadeh thought a bit and then said: The Excellency Rahmani, the punishments are physical in the religion of Islam; but in Baha’ism they are spiritual.

I said: Paying money isn’t a spiritual punishment because if a person is stoned, he or she will be spiritually punished. And also, there isn’t any explanation regarding the satisfaction or obligation in doing such crime in the Aqdas book. Moreover, all women aren’t employees. How can they pay this money? Do they ask their husband to pay? Additionally what will a man or a woman do if he/she does this crime continually. For instance, if a person fornicates 10 items in Baha’ism, he/she should pay nearly 7 mans and 8 seers [nearly 21 kilograms and 600 grams]

We sat under the trees and for some minutes and I took out a piece of paper and counted:

If a person fornicates in Baha’ism cult, he/she must pay the following penalties to the UHJ:

First time: nearly 45 grams

Second times: nearly 90 grams

Third time: nearly 180 grams

Fourth time: nearly 338 grams

Fifth time: nearly 675 grams

Sixth time: nearly 1 Kilo and 350 grams

Seventh time: nearly 2 Kilos and 700 grams

Eighth time: nearly 5 Kilos and 400 grams

Ninth time: nearly 10 Kilos and 800 grams

Tenth time: nearly 21 Kilos and 600 grams

20th time: nearly 22118 Kilos and 400 grams

30th time: 1510 (15-ton) trucks

40th time: 1546240 (15-ton) trucks

50th time: 1583349760 (15-ton) trucks

51st time: 3166699520 (15-ton) trucks

52nd time: 6333399040 (15-ton) trucks

53rd time: 12666798080 (15-ton) trucks

54th time: 25333596160 (15-ton) trucks

55th time: 50667192320 (15-ton) trucks

56th time: 101334384640 (15-ton) trucks

57th time: 202668769280 (15-ton) trucks

58th time: 4054337538560 (15-ton) trucks

59th time: 810675077120 (15-ton) trucks

60th time: 1621350154240 (15-ton) trucks

61st time: 3242700308480 (15-ton) trucks

62nd time: 6485400616960 (15-ton) trucks

63rd time: 12970801233920 (15-ton) trucks

Eventually at 63rd time, we will have a lot of 15-ton trucks. If we put all these trucks on all the lands on the earth, we will need extra lands to accommodate them (the area of all the lands on the earth is 148,000,000,000)

Of course, the area of each truck has been assumed as 15 square meters.

In brief, if a person fornicates for 100th time, he/she must pay gold as equal as the weight of all the world (5,955,000,000,000,000,000,000 tones)

Mr. Nabil Zadeh look at my exact accounting surprisingly. I said: Mr. Nabil Zadeh! You say the book Aqdas is from God. Hadn’t God thought about this problem? I say: Being such commandment in the Aqdas book is the reason for this fact that this book isn’t from God. He answered: it is none of our business, Mr. Masihullah. We should be faithful. Abdul Baha says in Makatib vol.2 p.247: “You should just be faithful. You aren’t allow to palter.”

Consequently, the Excellency Nabil Zadeh resorted to sophistry in order not to argue because he himself wasn’t able to answer logically. Yes, that right. Baha’is are god’s sheep. They should go everywhere the heads like. They aren’t allow to oppose; otherwise they will be excommunicated. They must obey and imitate blindly.
