Baha’ism and Imam Zaman (P.H.)
Bahaismiran: The investigation of Mahdaviat has been posed in the heavenly religions and also in Islam. However, the made cults such as Baha’ism emerged suddenly and posed some cases in this regard. Who is the Imam Zaman of Baha’ism? What is his relationship with Imam Zaman of Shiites and Sunnites?
Answer: Believing in the twelfth Imam is of the theological principals of Shiites and all Shiites believe in his existence by virtue of traditions history and intellectual reasons. The deviant cult of Baha’ism has been originated by Babism and Babism has been originated by Sheikism. Seyyed Ali Muhammad Bab who was an ambitious young man studied for a while in the holy city of Karbala at Seyyed Kazem Rashti’s school who was the chairman of Sheikieh creed. After the master’s death, he claimed for being the gate of Imam Zaman (P.H.). At this stage, Seyyed Bab has been Muslim, Shiite; so his Imam Zaman has been Shiites’ one. Nevertheless after four years Seyyed Ali Muhammad Shirazi changed gradually and called himself as the hidden Imam or the promised Mehdi.
Consequently, it should be said that the founders of Babism and Baha’ism called themselves as Mehdi misusing the available opportunities among Muslims and their beliefs in Imam Zaman (P.H.). Then they claimed prophethood and divinity. Thus their Imam Zaman is different from Shiites’ one.
