The legitimacy crisis of the Universal House of Justice

Bahaismiran:

According to Abdul Baha’s statement in Tablets and wills, the Baha’i organization is based on two pillars: the guardian of God’s order and the Universal House of Justice. Shoqi Effendi believes that these two pillars aren’t separable and says: “This new discipline is apart from falsehool and is based on two strong pillars: the first and the greatest bone is the divine guardianship and the second one is the greatest divine Universal House of Justice which is the source of legitimacy. It is impossible for this new disciple of these pillars to be separable as the divine disciple can’t be separable.[1]”

According to the tablets and wills, the divine guardians were 24 people which would come successively and each must elect his/her successor and they are the permanent heads of the Universal House of Justice. Shoqi Effendi, the first divine guardian of Baha’is says about the necessity for the divine guardianship: “The unity for the divine guardianship will be endangered without this institute and its foundations will be shaked and its dignity and rank will be lowered.[2]”

After Shoqi Effendi’s deat, Abdul Baha’s prediction wouldn’t fulfilled because Shoqi was abortive. Thus, the divine guardianship dynasty ended by Shoqi Effendi’s death. So, illegitimacy of the UHJ  was posed and challenged among the Baha’ism followers.

However, we don’t believe in the Baha’ism cult and its claims and beliefs; but if we want to consider the issue in behalf of a Baha’i we will encounter the challenge that the then UHJ is vain without the divine guardian and it will basically invalid and illegitimate for the Baha’i heads declare clearly that these two pillars (the divine guardian the UHJ) can’t be separated from each other.
